Dr. Benjamin Damazo is a board-certified otolaryngologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of voice disorders. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of the Pacific, where he not only stood out as a record-holding NCAA Division 1 Swimmer but also excelled academically, earning a place on the distinguished Dean’s List and recognition as an NCAA academic athlete.
Fuelled by a profound passion for medicine, Dr. Damazo undertook his Doctor of Medicine at Loma Linda University.
After medical school, Dr. Damazo’s passion for otolaryngology steered him to a rigorous five-year residency at Loma Linda University Hospital, emphasizing whole-person care.
Drawn to the intricacies of voice, swallowing, and breathing disorders, Dr. Damazo further honed his skills with a fellowship in Laryngology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. This experience broadened his understanding of comprehensive voice disorder management, specialized voice, airway, and swallowing procedures, and the laser treatment of benign and malignant laryngeal neoplasms.
Beyond Laryngology, Dr. Damazo maintains an enthusiasm for sports medicine. Affiliated with USA Boxing as a physician, he served as a ringside physician at the California State Amateur Boxing Championship in 2022.
Outside his professional arena, Dr. Damazo is a mosaic of interests: from swimming and playing the violin and bassoon to engaging in chess matches. Nonetheless, the heart of his world revolves around the cherished moments with his family, filled with laughter, song, and playful dances with his wife, daughters, and newborn son.
